RADIOHEAD / Rain Down (un-released) (Meeting People Is Easy 1:14:29)
transcribed by Joey Gallagher ([email protected])
This song is just a short peice heard on Meeting People Is Easy when Thom is
soundchecking in Japan. I have never heard of this song mentioned by the
band so it might just be a short peice Thom put together to help warm his
voice up before a show. It sounds similar to the "Rain Down" segment from
Paranoid Android because the only lyric he sings is rain down at the
begining (there the similarities end, this peice is totally different). Then
he hums through a lot of beautiful octave scales. It could end up being a
segment of some future song. This is an amazing peice and it really
showcases Thom's vocal range.
The song starts off with a picking pattern and then gradually starts to
incorporate strums. I tabbed out the picking parts so repeat the same
pattern basically on every chord. After about the 5th chord just start half
strumming and picking, then you have the basic idea of how the peice
progresses. Every chord is played for one measure except the second chord of
the song (the G#) it's held for 4 measures.
